Move-In

We are very excited you have chosen to live on campus for the 2020-21 academic year! We look forward to welcoming you to campus and to begin a new school year at Kennesaw State University. The University is preparing for students to return to campus, which includes planning for social distancing guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Since this preparation is still underway, Move-In dates for Fall 2020 have not yet been released. Residential students will be notified when the dates for Move-In are available.  

Move-In Pre-Arrival Checklist

In order to make your move-in process as smooth as possible, please familiarize yourself with the "Move-In Pre-Arrival Checklist" below.

  • Each item on this list must be completed before your Move-In Day.

    • Obtain your Talon Card. Instructions for getting your Talon Card will be sent to you via your KSU student email. Be on the lookout!
    • Create your SALTO Lock PIN. This PIN will be necessary each time you enter your room. Please see this document for information on how to setup or change your PIN: PIN Setup Instructions
    • Complete the immunization requirements for Kennesaw State University. All students must submit a Meningitis Statement Form as well. This document can be hand-delivered, mailed or emailed to the KSU Immunization Department located in the Registrar's Office within Kennesaw Hall on the Kennesaw Campus and Enrollment Services within Building B on the Marietta Campus.
    • Pay your Fall 2020 semester tuition and fees by the payment deadline, 4 p.m. on August 31, 2020, which includes on-campus living fees for the semester. Visit the Bursar's website for more information.
    • If you're bringing a car to campus, purchase a Residential Parking Permit at parkingportal.kennesaw.edu 24 hours after registering for classes.
    • Review our packing list of items you will need to bring.
    • Optional: Enroll in Renter’s Insurance
  • Every resident is strongly encouraged to carry Renter’s Insurance. Kennesaw State University Housing and Residence Life is not responsible for damages to or loss of personal property. You can obtain such insurance at a minimal cost annually. You may also be able to obtain a rider policy to any parent or guardian’s homeowners policy.

  • A. To make our Move-In process as smooth as possible, we ask that you limit bringing two (2) cars on campus. Please limit bringing one car for the student and one car for parents/family. 

  • A. Housing and Residence Life will send your specific Move-In time to your student email. It will also be listed in the Housing Portal. Move-In times will be available by the end of July. 

  • A. You can reach out to your roommate through the Housing Portal. Here is how:

    1. Log into the Housing Portal.
    2. Click on the top left menu. 
    3. Click on the Messages feature. 
    4. Enter roommate's name exactly how it is listed in the portal.
    5. Send your message.
  • A. Housing cannot accommodate any early move-in requests. If you are in the Marching Owls, Owl Expedition, Athletics or participating in Sorority recruitment, please visit those respective pages for early move-in information.

  • A. You are welcome to arrive any time between your designated time slot and 5:00 PM, if necessary. Please note that if you do not move in within 24 hours of your move-in time, your housing assignment will be canceled.

  • A. We will have a limited number of bins available to use on Move-In day. We recommend that you bring your own dolly or cart.

  • A. You can request a room change two weeks after Move-In. Room changes are granted based on availability. There is a $200 room change fee.
