Early Move-In Information

In order to make your move-in process as smooth as possible, please familiarize yourself with the "Move-In Pre-Arrival Checklist" below.

  • Each item on this list must be completed before your Move-In Day.

    • Obtain your Talon Card from the Talon One Service Center and have it near you when you drive up for check-in.
    • Create your SALTO Lock PIN. Please see this document for information on how to setup or change your PIN: PIN Setup Instructions
    • Complete the immunization requirements for Kennesaw State University
    • Arrange for payment of your housing charges before August 13, 2019. Please see the "Housing Payments" tab below for more information.
    • Purchase a Residential parking permit and enter your vehicle information at
    • Review checklist of items to bring on Move-In Day: 2019 Packing List
    • Optional: Enroll in Renter’s Insurance
  • Every resident is strongly encouraged to carry Renter’s Insurance. Kennesaw State University Housing and Residence Life is not responsible for damages to or loss of personal property. You can obtain such insurance at a minimal cost annually. You may also be able to obtain a rider policy to any parent or guardian’s homeowners policy.

  • A. In order to properly check in for Move-In day, please make sure that you bring your Talon Card and have taken care of your Housing Payments. Also, make sure to look over our pre-arrival checklist and packing list before coming to campus.

  • A. Please look over our payment information webpage to review payment options and deadlines. 

  • A. To make our Move-In process as smooth as possible, we ask that you limit bringing two (2) cars on campus. Please limit bringing one car for the student and one car for parents/family. 

  • A. Housing and Residence Life will send your specific Move-In time to your student email. It will also be listed in the Housing Portal. Move-In times will be available by the end of July. 

  • A. You can reach out to your roommate through the Housing Portal. Here is how:

    1. Log into the Housing Portal.
    2. Click on the top left menu. 
    3. Click on the Messages feature. 
    4. Enter roommate's name exactly how it is listed in the portal.
    5. Send your message.
  • A. Housing cannot accommodate any early move-in requests. If you are in the Marching Owls, Owl Expedition, Athletics or participating in Sorority recruitment, please visit those respective pages for early move-in information.

  • A. You are welcome to arrive any time between your designated time slot and 5:00 PM, if necessary. Please note that if you do not move in within 24 hours of your move-in time, your housing assignment will be canceled.

  • A. We will have a limited number of bins available to use on Move-In day. We recommend that you bring your own dolly or cart.

  • A. You can request a room change two weeks after Move-In. Room changes are granted based on availability. There is a $200 room change fee.
