Move-In Day Process

    • Scan the QR codes on your Student and Parent/Guest hangtags for directions to your check-in and unloading zone.
    • If you are traveling in a separate vehicle from your parent/guest, you should follow the "student" route to your check-in location, and your parents should navigate directly to your community's unloading zone by following the "parent/guest" route.
    • If you are traveling in one vehicle, you should follow the "student" route to your check-in location before going to your community’s unloading zone.
    • Be sure to have your physical, valid (not expired), government-issued photo ID or Talon Card ready to present during check-in.
    • Be sure to have the screenshot or printed copy of your Move-In Arrival QR code ready to present during check-in. You can find this in the Housing Portal
    • During check-in, you will receive your Talon Card (if applicable), bedroom key and Wellness Bag with a KSU face covering, digital thermometer and bottle of hand sanitizer.
    • Once you've checked in, follow the signs from your check-in location to your community's unloading zone.
    • Here, you should begin unloading your vehicle(s) as quickly as possible.
    • Please be sure you and your guests are wearing face coverings as you unload.
    • Moving bins are provided, but we encourage you to bring your own wagons and dollies to make moving easier. Please limit your bin use to one hour.
    • Please move your vehicles as soon as you finish unloading to make room for other residents arriving.
    • If you need assistance, find a volunteer in a gold "Nest Builder" T-shirt.
    • If you have questions throughout the day, stop by one of our Information Tents.
    • Once you arrive at your unit, enter your 6-digit SALTO PIN and then present your Talon Card to your lock and open the door to enter your room. Be sure to create this 6-digit SALTO PIN if you haven't already
    • In your bedroom, you will find a Welcome Folder with helpful information, like how to connect to WiFi; where your community's dumpsters are located; and instructions for how to use the free laundry in your rooms or communities.
    • You will also find a magnet in your unit with emergency contact information.
    • Check out our packing list, so you don't forget anything. If you do forget something, don't worry! Visit our Move-In Marketplace on each campus for those last-minute essentials, like power strips, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, snacks and more! Find their locations on our Move-In maps.
